Hi everyone! As you may have seen on my Instagram, I did a live TV-show performance in Germany a while back. As my first EP "Paradisiac" was released, it was found by one of 90's biggest artists and he called my phone singing along to the top songs on the EP. As surreal as that was and a huge compliment, things were about to escalate to heights I could have only dreamed of! A few weeks later the same artist texted me asking if I'd like to do a TV-show performance with him in Germany. He told me I have 2 days to rehearse on my own and learn 2 songs. At this time I had NO IDEA how huge this show was! I even asked a German friend of mine about the show and she claimed it was very small and kind of insignificant. Oh well, I jumped on the opportunity and the tv network contacted me to book my flights. I was told to wear all white so I had to go panick shopping, get my hair and nails and tan in place and rehearse the 2 songs. I rehearsed them all the way on my trip, in the taxi, on the plane, during transfers! Lol As I arrived I was brought to my own trailor to do my hair, make-up and change of clothes (didn't know the show provided that!). I was so nervous at this point because I had not expected the production to look so big! It was a warm humid summer day and I remember the smell of wet grass and my nerves being on 100 as I spoke to production assistants who spoke to my fellow artist through walkie talkies confirming that I had arrived. As I was ready with my look, I was hustled into a "look check", where they check that you look good and nothing is sticking out. They cut wash tags off from my dress so they don't stick out. I met up with my artist friend and we rehearsed for about 30 minutes in his dressing room where he told me how we're gonna move together on stage, not to move too sexy as it's a family show etc. Short thereafter we were told that it's show time! We were escorted backstage with people carrying our umbrellas over us. As we were moving through the back seats in the crowd, people already started going crazy! We were standing back stage with our microphones in our hands waiting for the assistants to tell us to enter the stage. Nerves were running high and my adrenalin was pumping, I could not stand still and people were sneaking shots of me with their cameras and cellphones. As we were given the GO to get on stage for our performance, two huge white doors slid to each side and we entered the stage! THAT is a moment in my life I will NEVER forget! As the extremely bright lights hit my face and I saw the flying cameras and felt the energy of the audience and saw their excited faces, I KNEW that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life and becoming an artist was the BEST choice I have ever made. I LOVE what I do! We did our first set of one song and as we were performing, all I could think of was "don't mess up don't mess up", "this is incredible OMG!!!", "holy shit I'm really doing this"! LOL I can just remember being so incredibly nervous and so incredibly excited and happy all at once! Fortunately somehow I remembered all the lyrics, stayed composed and did the show well! As we exited the stage we had 30 more minutes to rehearse the next song for our next set. Well... 20 minutes since I was screaming and jumping for 10 minutes because I could not believe what I had just done! At that moment I got a text from someone in Norway asking me if I was just on this TV show, which made me wonder how big of a broadcast this is. So I told my artist friend that people in Norway had seen me and I told him my German friend had told me this show is quite small. He looked at me big eyed and said "Are you kidding me?! There are 10 million people watching you on TV right now!" You can only imagine how my nerves kicked up in even higher gear now knowing how HUGE this show is that I'm doing! As we entered the stage for our second performance, regardless of my nerves, I actually enjoyed this one MORE and felt more relaxed than the first go. I think that subconciously I may have not wanted to know how big of an audience I was performing for, just in case I'd get too nervous. Not until I left for the airport was I told that the live audience was of 5000 people! Shortly after our last set we were transferred to the airport and I flew back to London! I wanted to give you guys an insight into what this show meant to me and how it was being there as my Instagram doesn't have space for thaaat much of a story :) This was my FIRST official performance ever and it was for 5000 people in the live audience, 10 million people watching on tv, cameras flying all around the stage and an amazing unforgettable memory that I'll carry with me forever! Watch a clip from the show below! :) Thanks for reading! <3 -Camilla K- www.instagram.com/xcamillak www.twitter.com/xcamillak www.facebook.com/CamillaKFans (If the video does not play, you can find it on my Instagram:
